Join an impactful gathering that spotlights and supports home visiting programs in Native communities to strengthen child and family health, nutrition, and well-being; revitalize culture and language; and help communities nurture the next generation.

Meeting Details

The Native Communities Home Visiting Meeting (NHVM) will be held September 22–25, 2026, at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, California.

  • Optional Association for State and Tribal Home Visiting Initiatives (ASTHVI) Reception for Tribal Home Visiting Teams on Tuesday, September 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PT
  • Opening celebration on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
  • Meeting begins Wednesday, September 23 at 9:00 a.m. PT
  • Meeting ends: Friday, September 25 at 12:30 p.m. PT

This meeting is sponsored by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through its Office of Early Childhood Development (ECD).

Meeting Goals

The meeting will highlight and support the ways in which home visiting supports health, nutrition, and well-being, integrates culture and language, and nurtures future generations. Sessions will address important areas of home visiting practice, including outreach and recruitment, family engagement and retention, cultural integration, workforce supports, early childhood systems, data collection and reporting, research and evaluation, dissemination, and fiscal management. Learn from peers and experts, share innovative approaches, build new connections, and celebrate the great work of home visiting programs serving Native communities. The meeting will offer:

  • Connection and shared learning across the Native home visiting field
  • Practical strategies and tools for home visiting programs and partners
  • Professional development and capacity-building opportunities
  • Thought-provoking plenary speakers, interactive breakout sessions, peer exchange opportunities, skill-building workshops, networking, and cultural celebrations

Who Should Attend

The NHVM brings together programs and people from across the nation who are working to deliver home visiting services designed to support and promote the health and wellbeing of American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander children, families, and communities. Meeting registration is free and open to all those supporting and working in home visiting programs in Native communities, including Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) grant recipients and MIECHV awardees, as well as model developers, funders, and researchers. This is a required meeting for Tribal MIECHV grant recipients.
